1. The Best of TENN

Launch Tennessee, in partnership with The Blackstone Charitable Foundation, is conducting The TENN, a master accelerator program designed to provide “tier 2” support to some of the top startups coming out of the state’s accelerator network.

These ten companies were selected after participating in the first statewide Demo Day and were chosen by a panel of national and regional venture capitalists and entrepreneurs.

The three-month TENN program kicked off with a statewide roadshow where the company founders presented their ideas to executives at some of Tennessee’s top corporations: FedEx, HCA, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Eastman, Scripps Interactive and First Tennessee Bank. Additional trips to Silicon Valley and New York are planned.

The TENN participants will also take part in “learning days” focused on investment pitches, branding/marketing, investor relations/finance and business execution, where they will be schooled in the Rockefeller Habits.

Launch Tennessee has recruited 40 Master Mentors to be part of the inaugural program, and the list includes some of the state’s leading entrepreneurs, investors and corporate executives. Each company has three to four Master Mentors who are there to provide strategic advice and potential networking opportunities.

All of this solidifies the fact that Tennessee is a great state for entrepreneurs to launch companies. The TENN program further highlights our unique accelerator network and the breadth and depth of support that we have across the state for potential high-growth companies.
